Needless to say it is a recession!
Thanks to the recession, I was able to have dinner without waiting in a long line in front of a Japanese popular restaurant yesterday. The restaurant usually have a lot of customers at lunchtime and dinnertime, and I always give up eating there as I don’t like waiting for a long time. It was thrilling for me to have the meal for the first time in my Nagoya life, and after all it didn’t betray my expectation! Now that I understood the reason of the long line and the long history of the restaurant.
This is called hitsumabushi grilled eel served in a wooden bowl, which is quite popular in Nagoya. Once divide four roughly, have the first of one fourth directly, the second with condiments such as chopped green onion, wasabi, and cut sea weed, the third with condiments and soup, and the last with your favorite way. As a matter of fact, I have had this meal in other restaurants several times, however, this original restaurant is the best!
Nagoya is known for its strong and often unsophisticated attack of flavors and tastes - this is not your typical sushi, but rather sushi as street food with rich unagi and potently vinegared and sweetened sushi rice! Horai does not pretend to be any fancy shmancy eatery - it is a classic Nagoya-styled, Nagoya-flavored unagi joint with dishes that have survived the times and loved by generations of Nagoya locals.
Thanks to the recession, the price of wheat will decrease more than 10% in April! Thanks to the recession, I have got much time to study for my career.
